Our Pledge

PHP Architect is committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive, and harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, disability, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, level of experience, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.

Our Standards

Examples of behavior that contributes to creating a positive environment include:

  • Using welcoming and inclusive language
  • Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences
  • Gracefully accepting constructive criticism
  • Focusing on what is best for the community
  • Showing empathy towards other community members
  • Supporting and encouraging newcomers
  • Respecting people's boundaries and personal space

Examples of unacceptable behavior include:

  • Harassment of any kind, including unwelcome comments or attention
  • Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks
  • Public or private harassment
  • Publishing others' private information without explicit permission
  • Sexual language, imagery, or advances of any kind
  • Intimidation or stalking (online or in-person)
  • Sustained disruption of talks or other events
  • Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to all PHP Architect spaces, including but not limited to:

  • PHP Tek Conference and all associated events
  • Online forums, discussion boards, and comment sections
  • Social media channels managed by PHP Architect
  • Email communications
  • Any other channels where community members interact

Enforcement

Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be reported by contacting the PHP Architect team at conduct@phparch.com.

All complaints will be reviewed and investigated promptly and fairly. The PHP Architect team is obligated to maintain confidentiality with regard to the reporter of an incident.

Consequences

Community members who are asked to stop any inappropriate behavior are expected to comply immediately. If a community member engages in behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, the PHP Architect team may take any action they deem appropriate, including:

  • Warning the offender
  • Temporary suspension from community spaces
  • Permanent ban from community spaces
  • Removal from conferences without refund
  • Reporting to appropriate authorities when necessary

At Our Events

If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior at a PHP Architect event, or have any other concerns, please report it immediately to event staff. Staff will be clearly identified and can be found at the registration desk or by approaching any staff member wearing an event badge.

Event staff will be happy to help participants contact venue security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the event.

This Code of Conduct is adapted from the Contributor Covenant and various community codes of conduct from the PHP and open source communities.
